Variations in Exhaust Rocker Arm Shafts
  • Distinguishing features:
    • The Early style exhaust rocker arm shaft (pictured on left) has a constrictor at one end which limits oil flow to the head thus supplying more to the crank.  The restricted end should be inserted into the head first.
    • Late style engines have Intake and Exhaust shafts that are the same (pictured at right below).
  • Part number(s):
    • 14461-028-010 = Restricted exhaust shaft for Early style engine
    • 14451-028-010 = Intake shaft any year, Exhaust shaft for Late style engine
